Polls Are Almost Closed

Well it's almost time to close the polls and come up with the wieners. I tell ya you guys have narrowed it down to ironically three people in one category and overwhelmingly one sided in another, and well the last one is a toss up. I will say this much cause I have the lug nutz to say this. ALL the drivers at HMS are talented and believe it or not somewhat(ouch this hurts) respected. This is all done for fun. Some people get their panties in such a wad over nothing. Point I am making if you gonna stick up for ya driver or drivers, have the LUGNUTZ to at least show ya face. Oh SHIZZIT, it just came to me. Must be a true HMS fan, came to a battle of wits with his helmet on. Click here to see Jeffy starring as I am Ultra man.

Another note, testing the car of tomorrow is coming along very quickly. Chances are (95%) of the wing staying on the car. The more I learn about this new car the more I like it. More cost efficient, less need for so many different cars for so many different tracks. More to come about this as soon as I find out more. Keep the votes coming and Monday night I will reveal the wieners!!!!!!!

Gotta Love It!!!!!!

A friend of mine,WHO SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS, came up with something that caught my attention. How about a poll of who people dislike the most at Hendrick Motor Sports and why? So here is how we will do it. Leave all your choices on the comments part. Three parts, first of course drivers. Secondly, crew chiefs and third Your Vote for the biggest whiner at Hendrick. The winning driver/ crew chief will get an all expenses paid bashing by ME, complete with pictures.
Drivers: Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Brian Vickers, or Kyle Busch
Crew Chiefs: Steve Le Tarte, Chad Knaus, Lance McGrew, or Alan Gustafson
Biggest Whiner: that is up to all of you, have fun. Gotta love it!

Papa Bill

A little more than a week a week after racing in his first NASCAR Nextel Cup race, at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bill Lester and his wife Cheryl have another reason to celebrate.
Their second son, Austin Richard Lester, arrived on the starting grid at 1:56 p.m. on Tuesday. Auston weighed in a 9 pounds even and measured 20.5 inches.
That reportedly fit the template and the Lesters say the youngster is posting competitive nap times. As taken from That's Racin.com. Congrats to Bill and his family from the Pits.

Next Up, Martinsville

NASCAR was formed in 1948 and Martinsville Speedway ran its first NASCAR race on July 4th of that year. In 1949, Martinsville ran the sixth race in the series that eventually became the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Circuit. At slightly more than half a mile, Martinsville Speedway is the shortest track on the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Circuit, but it's one of the biggest when it comes to action. It has 800-foot straights, turns banked at only 12 degrees and has been called "two drag strips with a turnaround on each end." The demanding layout consistently produces some of the wildest fender scrubbing, push and shove racing on the tour. Martinsville Speedway opened in 1947 with 750 seats and has grown continuously over the years. But, other than being paved in 1955, the track configuration has not changed since Red Byron won the inaugural event. Martinsville Speedway, located three miles south of Martinsville, Va., is the only original NASCAR-sanctioned track still running NEXTEL Cup events. Richard Petty hold the record for most wins at 15. Thought you would like to know. Last years winner was the Rainblow Warrior, due to respect of my readers I show NO pictures of that event!

Bristol Day 2

God Bless Paul Dana and his family during this time of loss. A rookie in the IRL was tragically killed at Homestead today. An ex Journalist and car enthusiest he will be sorely missed. Paul Dana dead at age 30.Dana is the first IRL driver killed since Tony Renna died in a crash during testing at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in October 2003.
It is the third racing death at the Homestead track - John Nemechek was killed in a NASCAR truck race in February 1997 and Jeff Clinton died in a Grand Am sports car event at the track in March 2002

After a action packed 500 laps, Kurt Busch won....again at Bristol. The car is different, the number is different, the move and the boos from the fans were the same. What the fizzuck was that wanna-be snow angel move? Moving Matt outta the way "Rubberhead" said that is just Bristol. Martinsville is next week. Two races at Bristol and two second place finishes for Happy. The worst part was getting beat by Dumbo today and Dumboer yesterday. What about the Rainblow Warrior? He sure got his panities in an uproar. Best part is JJ is third in points. Remember what I said about it being funny if Chad came back and JJ falters? Must be my JJ voodoo doll!!!!

Fizzucking Snow???

I just had come home, turned on the t.v. and then heard the news. Thirty-two laps in (or so) SNOW DELAY! I thought naw, no way. So I got on NASCAR.com and was reassured that it had indeed snowed and the officials were "plowing" and drying the track. So after all that and a lot of laughter, it came to me. After watching races since 1973, I had NEVER seen a SNOW delay. A FIZZUCKING SNOW delay? After many long minutes of blah blah blah blah blah blah blah BLAH, the race finally got under way. Many cautions and some really good driving left Shrubs a winner. Not to say I have changed my opinion of the arrogant little fuck, but he drove one hell of a good race. Props to that whole team. I was sitting at the edge of my seat screaming at Harvick to stick that "chrome bumper" to him and introduce him to Mr. Safe-barrier. Old Happy just didn't have the car to catch the other big eared dummy. Get well to Biff's mechanic Jim Byrne, hurt while fixing a shock. His bruised ribs should heal as with Steven Wallace's ego after his tangle with Reed Sorenson.

Must say one thing about Jamie Mac. During the rain delay he was asked about running the Busch Series as well as Cup. His response was in not so many words....I think it isn't right to take away from the series regulars. Meaning not only points, sponsorship dollars, but the actual championship itself. Big funded teams take away from the smaller teams trying to make the race. Back to reality, point is six of the top ten finishers today were Cup regulars. Not to mention the so are the first five in championship points. I couldn"t agree with him more!! Tomarrow should be even more exciting. I wonder if they will race snow mobiles if it snows again.

HistorE Lesson...Bristol

Well besides another rain delay and Kevin Harvick still wanting to put The Keebler Elf in his "place", there is only one thing in the news....Chad Kmouse. Well since that is another bullshit subject I won't touch on again, I thought a little historE lesson about the best bullring in the business would be in order.
Bristol Motor Speedway could very easily have opened in 1961 under a different name. The first proposed site for the speedway was in Piney Flats but, according to Carl Moore, who built the track along with Larry Carrier and R.G. Pope, the idea met local opposition. So the track that could have been called Piney Flats International Speedway was built five miles down the road on Hwy. 11-E in Bristol. The land, upon which Bristol Motor Speedway is built, used to be a dairy farm.

Located in Bluff City Tennessee, Bristol Motor Speedway is hailed as one of the best "racing" tracks on the circuit. Built in 1960, held it's first NASCAR race on July 30, 1961. Being an all concrete track, similar to Dover makes for some serious door to door bone jarring action. Banked with 36 degree corners and 16 degree straight aways is always fun to watch. I have been there personally and from the infield you feel like a turd in a toilet bowl. The feeling is soooooo immense it is hard to explain with words. Trust me it kicks ass!!!!!!! The track is so short that speeds here are far lower than is typical on most NASCAR oval tracks, making for a considerable amount of "swapping paint". The initial starting grid of 43 vehicles extends almost halfway around the track, meaning that the slower-qualifying cars and those using provisional starts begin the race almost half a lap down. Another anomaly is that the short overall length means that there are two sets of pits. Until 2002, slower starters ware relegated to those on the backstretch, but a rule change for caution periods only made two backstretch pits desirable along with two on the frontstretch. Also known as Thunder Valley because of the drag strip there.

First two drivers to practice the track Tiny Lund and then David Pearson. At 79 plus mph, Fred Lorenzen grabbed the first ever pole and Jack Smith with the help of relief driver Johnny Allen. They cashed in for a whopping $3225. Seating capacity then was 18,000. A lot has changed since then, but I would bet the farm that the racing is just as hard. Since adding the banking and reshaping the track in 1969, not much has changed. Only the ownerships, name of the speedway, and how many fizzuckin people can fit in there. An astounding 160,00 screaming NASCAR fans! Bruton Smith has damn sure made it a fan favorite twice a year. This IS Bristol Baby and this has been your HistorE lesson for the day.

Strange Thoughts From A Strange Mind!

Makes you wonder where Tony's arms have been. Afterall it is at the Jeff Gordon Foundation "poker" classic.
