Where Did Ya Go???

Since opening up it's doors in 1988 Robert Yates Racing has seen all sorts of strange and tragic seasons. With the death of Davey Allison in 1993(helicopter crash), the wreck that almost took Ernie Irvins life, two seasons with Kenny Irwin, then Ricky Rudd and his stint in the last known ride of the 28 car, not to mention, Dale Jarrett. Expanding to a two car team in 1996, after Ernie came back from his injuries. Robert Yates Racing had the potential in the beginning with Davey Allison scoring 15 wins and two finishes of third in points before his untimely passing. Then RYR was the "top" Ford camp. Since Dale Jarrett's Championship in 1999 and his string of 29 wins, RYR hasn't done really shizzit. The hiring of Elliott Sadler to drive the now numbered 38 team lasted only a few years. With mediocre performances and only 2 wins since taking the ride in 2003, Elliott has decided to Dodge another bad year and Charge into 2007 in the 19 UAW Dodge Dealers Dodge vacated by Jeremy Mayfield. Dale has gone Rice Burner Racing at Mikey's Follies and took UPS with him. Now partnered with Roush Racing in the motor department maybe with Roush's help in the body and chassis department RYR can become less of a joke and more of the contender it used to be. I hope they can turn it around. In need of two drivers and sponsorship for at least one car is going to be hard road to travel. I hope after 40 plus years of building POWER plants in NASCAR we don't ask in five years where did RYR go???
