Monday "young" Kasey Kahne turns 26. For Sundays race the kid done got the pole in his UAW Dodge Dealers Dodge Charger, again. For the eighth time in just a little over three years along with two wins, including his recent win in Atlanta. Evernham Racing sure knows how to find a young driver. It is really no mystery how quickly Kasey has risen in his ability to pilot a Cup car. With the help and mentor-ship of Awesome Bill from Dawsonville Elliott, Kasey is sure maturing into not only a great race car driver but a very well spoken "ambassador" to the sport we love so much. He replaced Bill Elliott in the #9 Dodge at the end of the 2003 season when Elliott announced a part-time schedule starting with the 2004 season. Rookie of The Year, Kasey just missed winning 5 times with second place finishes, along with 13 top fives. In just his second season he scored his first win in Nextel Cup, at Richmond. Giving the new Dodge Charger it's very first win. Still living with his brother Kale, he proves not only to be a good role model on the track as well as off the track. Being one of very few drivers to win all three major divisions of NASCAR with 2 wins in Cup, 4 wins in Busch, and 2 wins in the Craftsman Truck series, he is definitely the youngest. He has already earned the respect of the rookies and even better he has earned the respect of the veterans. My only question is, is this "really" only his third season?
