Hendrick Motorsports own version of the big eared dummy Kyle "shrubs" Busch was pulled over Wednesday night in Henrico County for reckless driving. The incident happened around 10 o'clock at Laburnum and Route 60 in the East End. Ironically, Busch just talked to the media Ruesday at RIR about NASCAR's new "Focus on Driving Campaign," which is aimed at limiting distractions for teens behind the wheel. Busch was in Richmond taking part in a Nextel cup testing session this week. Busch is just 20 years old himself(so he knows it all and more than teens) and the defending Nextel Cup Rookie of the Year. Police won't go into specifics about the incident but say that alcohol was not involved and there was no property damage. Busch is scheduled to appear in court on May 23rd
"Under VA Commonwealth reckless driving laws someone can merely switch lanes without using a signal and get a ticket for reckless driving.
Think about this...these men spent 12 hours out on a hot track testing their cars for that Richmond race.
Now put yourself in his shoes. Better yet imagine if this happened to Dale Earnhardt Jr. Think how we would feel if we read the remarks of other driver's fans being gleeful in his arrest.
How many of us have come off a major highway where 70 is the norm and have to really adjust to pulling the speed back to the regular speed of 45.
Kyle made a mistake. He's 20 years old. Do you know how many 20 year olds get a ticket daily in this country? To jump out of a race car and think nothing of going 120/140 mph and adjust to 'civilian speeds' must be very difficult.
I vote we wait for the rest of the story. There was no alcohol involved and I'm sure that alot of race drivers find it difficult to temper back that gas pedal even on highways in this country." Directly quoted by a respected Pit Board member , Silent3fan.
I seriously had to laugh at the announcement of dear little "Shrubs" run in with the law. Silent3fan said it perfectly, he is after all twenty years old. Most of us can remember our twenties. Most of us will ADMIT, ok at least I will we were pretty gung ho and dumb. We knew it all and the world owed us. Point being is the little big eared dummy got a ticket for reckless driving, big fizzucking deal. No drugs, no booze, wtf? I guess the cop at least knew who he was. Just guessing the officer was an Earnhardt fan.

The report I have on my blog said he was driving recklessly in a KFC parking lot. It didn't give any more details than that.
Hey, isn't KFC one of Jr's sponsors??
Maybe we were young and gung ho, but don't forget we weren't a "household name" and thousands didn't "look up to us." He is supposed to set a standard for his very very young fans.
Just saying.
Even more to the story is being revealed... at least Shrub's side... something about he "chriped" his tires... posted it on my blog.
I vote we make fun of Baby Busch's ears and forget about the fact that he got a ticket for reckless driving after taking part in a NASCAR sanctioned discussion with teens about distracted drving.
His tires squealed...big deal.
Chalk this lame story up to an overzealous cop, media that likes to do drive by hit pieces on people, and folks that get off tearing down famous people.
You're so right about reckless driving in the Commie-wealth of Virginia dawg. They can give out a reckless ticket for just going 8 mph over the speed limit. Such an anal state. Glad, I don't live there anymore.
Richmond has a murder rate on par with Bogota Columbia, but the cops have time for those evil tire squealers.
Hell, I still "chirp" my tires. I had front wheel drive cars for like 18 years. I now have a SUV with rear wheel drive and I peel out all the time. I don't mean too. I just do.
