I think I have heard it all now. Just when you thought this silly season bull-shit is over, Michael Waltrip pulls off a surprise that certainly made me do a double take. Michael Waltrip Racing has paired up with Doug Bawel to form Waltrip-Jasper Racing Co. I guess when Mikey went over to BDR there was truth to some kind of "ownership" or "partnership".
Still the number 55 NAPA Dodge, for this year. Makes me wonder if this scenario plays out......... 2007 Toyota enters the Busch and Cup Series. Thinking like 'ol D.W., Mikey probably will go that route also. SELL-OUT!!!! With the backing of TRD in the truck series, you can only imagine what they WILL spend to be competitive out of the box. Monday the announcement will probably be made of their arrival. Can't fuckin wait!
With Jasper engines as a partner now, I wonder if they are helping develop the Toyota power plant.
With the help of Ty Norris, sound familiar? DEI old V.P. Larry Carter will also lend a hand in this adventure. Good luck Mikey. Hope you don't do what almost every other owner/driver does, SUCK.
