Holy shizit!!!! It looks as if North Wilkesboro Speedway might be getting resurrected. Sold in 1996 to Bruton Smith and Bob Bahre, they took the dates and ran with them. They added dates at Texas and Louden. What a crock of shit! They take away dates at the best little bullring besides Bristol on the circuit. Not to mention it was one of the original tracks that NASCAR raced on. Opened in 1947, it USED to host two dates of fender to fender racing. Last race was held in 1996 where Jeffy "Rainblow Warrior" Gordon took the final rag.
Seems like tradition does mean something. It means something to 24 year old Robert Marsden. What this Buffalo N.Y. native is doing to bring back a classic track makes this fan happy. I remember watching an interview being taped with Junior when he was barely a teenager in the infield. Anyways I don't care why this computer specialist is bringing forth this effort, just that he is. Selling price is 12 million and requires another estimated 1 million in repairs and resurfacing. The idea of it reopening brings back floods of memories of some great racing. Until then call me pessimistic, but I will believe it when I see it and hear the roar of the crowds.

We were at North Wilkesboro for the First Union 400 in 1994. The day before we were at the 30th anniversary for the Mustang which was held at Charlotte Motor Speedway (boo on Lowes). It was a fantastic weekend for us.
Love the pics of the old cars. Now THAT was racing!!
