"Busch won his 10th series race of 2008, tying Sam Ard's 1983 series record for wins in a season.Moments after climbing from his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, Busch announced his intention to donate $100,000 to Ard, who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease and accompanying financial difficulties."Sam Ard is one of the pioneers of this sport," Busch said. "To be tied with him is very special. We're going to be sending $100,000 his way to help him out. Hopefully, that'll help put a smile on his face."
Damn the boy has a heart, whodda thunk it??? I knew it was there under his immature reputation somewhere. Kinda reminds me of another race back in 07 when Kyle and Jeff Burton were racing for the win and Jeff pulled the air off of Shrubs and went on to win the race all the while Kyle was sliding across the finish line for second. Instead of doing the usual winners bull-shit, Burton drives up to Kyle and Kyle pats the A-post of Burton's car congratulating him on the win. Knowing full well that Jeff did nothing to spin Kyle. Just a few moments after that a reporter sticks a mike in his face and asks the all mighty question: "What did you say to Burton???" Shrubs replied in an uncharacteristic manner, "I gave him props for the win and I know that it was just a racing deal".
Just when you think he is a total dick, he surprises ya. I figured it this way. Kyle-2, the rest of NASCAR 198,654. Hey it's a start.
