Did you hear that folks??? It was the first of many domino's to fall. Marty Smith (ESPN) has reported that Tony Stewart will be announcing his departure from JGR today. Then on Thursday make it known he will be a 50% owner in the new "Stewart-Haas" Racing. Going back to his mechanical roots being powered once again by Chevrolet. I think that this is a smart move on Smoke's part. Mainly because I think he wants to secure his future after racing. Not to mention the fact that he was NOT so thrilled when JGR defected and went to Toyota for it's manufacturer.
Oh what will happen to the longest and best driver/crew chief combo in recent NASCAR history??? Not since Papa Gordo and Ray Evernham have there been a successful run as a driver/crew chief team. Will this mean the "divorce" between the two or will Zippy follow Tony and finish off both of their respective careers together??? I guess between today and tomorrow we will find out. I can only hope so, but indications say otherwise.
Rumors have DEI up for sale for a major investor to come in and possibly bale out the sinking ship once known for it's restrictor plate dominance, now known for loss of sponsors, personnel, and of course the company's namesake and son of our beloved Dale Sr., because of greed and stupidity. Maybe stupidity is the wrong word, hell if I was any smarter I'd be that rich. I think loss of purpose would be better. Ms. E. is ONLY thinking of the payola, not what Sr. had envisioned. I guess it must be a bitch to go to a place where your soulmate and yourself had built an empire. Than after the loss of Sr. and having to deal with the constant reminders of her loss (as well as Junebugs) on a day to day basis, yeah a little sympathy goes to her. On the flip side, wouldn't she want to keep it in the family for future generations to come??? Come on Kelley and June, pony up the dollars and take back what Sr. wanted ALL his kids to have.
More to come from this NASCAR version of "dominos". Where will the next one fall??? Maybe Ryan Newman, Truex Jr., who knows??? The only thing I do know is that it has just begun. Get your pads and pens ready to take notes, this will get confusing.

It would be really nice for Jr and Kelley to buy that place, but after the last year, it couldn't be worth what she would want to sell it for. Basically all anyone would be buying is old Ginn equipment. That and a few badly constructed race cars-- no offense intended to personnel. I think Jr and Kelley are better off working on JRM and let Teresa go down with the ship.
Those pictures are scary. For real the picture of Tony is hideous.
