The rumors are already starting to fly. Hmmm... where will Tony Stewart go??? Some say he will buy out 50% of Haas racing and run one his own rides teaming back up with Cheverolet. After all his other race teams still wear a "bowtie" and Tony does I believe have a contract to run Chevy motors and such for his own teams. That is why I tend to think that Tony and Chevy might not be too happy that he is driving a Toyota. My prediction is he bails also and finds happiness driving for "another" Chevy team. When you think of it, Haas is sort of a "not-so formal" branch of Hendrick. So really it would be another win for Rick Hendrick if Tony did do this, unless he boots Sluggo and gives Tony the five ride then that would be the only thing better. Either way it is ALL speculation right now. Until Tony and Gibbs Racing says any different it is all bullshit silly season starting early again this year.
Another rumor mill is Martin Truex Jr. will bailing off the sinking ship known as DEI, or TEI now a days. Where Martin goes if anywhere is anyone's guess. Me thinks he will be Childress's fourth driver. Realistically, there could be many scenarios that could play out. If Tony bails JGR, 20 car would need a driver, unless they give that car to Joey Lagano. JGR could even set up a fourth team of their own, who really knows??? Here is a thought HMS could maybe boot Sluggo to Haas and hire Junior's buddy. Maybe he will go to a Ford or Dodge team. The Petty's need a driver for the famed 43 car. Personally that would be the ONLY way I could see that 43 car in victory lane again, unless of course Richard got back in it and drove it in there before the end of a race.
All in all, the craziness of silly season has begun. I guess that is what gives us all something to blog about. One thing is for sure, there will be a bunch of new driver numbers to learn in 2009. Ahhh... As The Stomach Churns.

I never thought Tony would stay with Toyota...it's just not him.
Not to change the subject, but I just read an article about Dale Jr's bar, Whisky River. At the end of it, he was asked if Teresa was on the guest list. Jr. said "No!" and went on to talk about something else. I just found that so amusing.
