Most of the time when you go to Daytona in January you think only of testing. This year was a lil different for me. I got to go to The Daytona Experience and celebrate Dale Jr.s Fantasy Cup Racing BBQ. Well sort of like a bbq, they had mini-beef wellingtons, bbq baguettes (spelling???), chicken, meatballs, fruits and salads, and of course a "2" drink minimum. After the 2 you had to pay. I am glad I don't drink, that would have been expensive. Well maybe not considering everything else was paid for, lol. Either way the spread was good.
The best part was the Q & A with Junior. I had thought originally that the "small" group of us may just get a chance to meet june up front and personal, but as luck has it ONLY the top 4 finishers got to meet him. So much for him autographing my tattoo of his father. I did however manged to win an autographed Amp shirt. Which is in my glass and plexiglass case of Junior's diecast, all 120 or so of them. During the Q&A session, Junior gave the impression that he is as normal as the rest of us. Well as normal and regular as you can with the last name Earnhardt. They literally had to remove him from the stage. He took the time to answer every question in detail. Even the dumb one about his favorite color. Who the fuck would ask him a question like that when there are sooo many other pertinent questions to ask??? By the way it is orange.
Either way a gr88 time was had. My back is a lil sore still from the thousands of rides in the simulators. That was fun. Too bad I drove like Steven Wallace. No one was safe. Can't wait til next year, maybe then I can finish high enough to get a chance for June to sign my ink. One thing is for sure like me, my tattoo isn't going anywhere.

This is Susan. what fun (even without the autograph). I think (me being female) I might have made a big dive towards him. Just kidding but a thought (if I had that kind of nerve). I'd be afraid I'd get arrested.
Yes that was a wasted question about his favorite color...every real Dale Jr fan knows it's orange.
Where's your zoom lens?
Sounds like you had a good time despite not getting to meet our boy.
And yes, he is so down to earth, isn't he? All he wants to do is race a car and please his fans any which way he can. Gotta love him.
were they race car simulators?
that would be super cool!
Orange? I didn't know that. I learn something new everyday. Glad you got to be there. Next time, sell the drink tickets.
