Behind every successful man is a good woman. Don't believe me? Read on, because I am about to prove it to ya. Teresa Houston and Dale Earnhardt met in 1974, when she was just sixteen and he was twenty-two.
Her uncle Hal Houston raced too. While she was there for her uncle she soon started seeing Dale Earnhardt, one of his competitors. As things were getting serious she started to watch Kelley and Dale, Jr. when they were at the same tracks while their father was racing. Once was said, she made friends with the kids and outlasted all the women around him "and she got her man."
Teresa had completed her high school graduation requirements by the end of her junior year. Dale respected how intelligent she was and how attentive to detail. She had developed a good head for business, too, and became his personal time manager. Earning a degree in commercial art and interior design.
In 1980, after a fire burned down the house his second wife and children lived in, Kelley and Dale, Jr. came to live with him. From a hospital bed after a crash in one of his races, he proposed to Teresa. They married in 1982, becoming wife number three (there it is). Third time is a charm.
A few years later, after his sixteenth birthday, Kerry came to live with them. This was the first time that Kelley and Dale, Jr. met him. Taylor was born a year or two after that, in 1988.
Taking on the responsibility of someone else's children says a lot about character and the dedication of love for your spouse. Basically speaking she is a respected woman that gives a shizzit. Hope this proves it to ya. Just goes to show ya, the number three(hello again) is more than a number, it is a legend in driver AND drivers wife.
