Our fuzzy haired road course ace, Boris Said snatched the pole in Mexico beating out Busch Series regulars Denny Hamlin and Johnny Sauter. My money would be on Boris to win this race. Barring any bullshit, this number 9 Ingersoll Rand Evernham Dodge ought to be the one to beat. I don't think there is ANY series safe on a road course when Boris is driving in it. If you consider before entering the truck series in '97 he won 15 races AND the 12 hours of Sebring between 1997 and 1998 in the IMSA series his BMW M-3, driving for Tom Milner at Team PTG. Bukoo amounts of wins over seas driving in the Spa-Francorchamps Series and in the states driving Corvettes in the SCCA. Starting in 1992 and the following three years won the IMSA Endurance Challenge Series Championship.
In 1997 Boris ran the full year in the Craftsman Truck Series finishing 16th in points. Scored his first win in '98 at Sonoma. Between Cup and the Truck Series has 1 win and 1 top ten out of nine races. Watkins Glen has also been very kind to Mr. Said, in 10 starts in all 3 series he has 3 top 5's and 4 top 10's. In 2005 grabbed a third place at Watkins and last year in Mexico finished fifth. With all that in mind I think you will see a Said Head in victory lane. Cabeza de Pelusa de buena suerte.
